Well, after a few days of contemplation I got my ear pierced. Wasn’t that hard of a decision but I thought I would make sure it was what I really wanted before getting it done.
One thing people are never aware of are the vast amount of things that can go wrong with just a straight forward piercing, but its in such a small minority, that I didn’t even really consider it. Despite what some people have told me, I didnt find it that painful, more of a relieving feeling after the needle had finally cut its way through. A few days on now, and its going good, apart from a little bruising, things seem to be coming on nicely.
On my expiditions through the internet, I also stumbled across a mug that I have instantly ordered purely down to its design aesthetics and originality. This knuckle Duster
mug can be found at Thabto at the awesome price of £11.99 for you to be enjoying hot beverages throughout the long cold winter nights. Started by the award winning London designers
Steven Smith and James Wosiek they plan on providing gift idea’s for both men and women alike. They only have a limited product line at this point in time, but plan on soon expanding it with other unique products and interesting conversation starters.

Congrats on your piercing! First one? Is it in the earlobe? Those are some of the easier piercings to heal in my experience.
Props to you for getting it done properly with a piercing needle. I die a little bit inside every time I hear about someone getting piercings with piercing guns.

It is at the top of my right ear, through the cartilage. I went through some serious bruising at the start, but the pain has started to die down now.
I didn’t want to risk it with a gun, as I have heard of some people having serious complications when being pierced through cartilage.
Im contemplating getting more done, I think the bug has bit!

Guns are so bad to begin with, but they get so much worse when you go through cartilage. Good call.
Cartilage was actually one of the more surprisingly painful piercings I’ve had done. That and navel. It’s pretty interesting what ends up hurting more or less than what you expect.
One thing I’ve noticed, which I think has been a contributing factor in how many piercings I have, is that I seem to get piercing-pain-amnesia. I forget the pain pretty quickly, so every time I get a new piercing I think, “Wow, that hurt worse than any other piercing I’ve EVER done!”
You’ll have to let me know if/when you get more done! It’s so addictive, isn’t it? I’ve been pierced 22 times.
I don’t actually have 22 piercings at the moment, though. Some I’ve had to take out for various reasons. But still, I LOVE it.
